A good SCUM base is more than walls and a flag. You need cover from sentries, storage for vehicle parts, and a plan when zombies or players push your bunker. Here is how to build smart on the prison island.
Pick a spot that fits your play style
Bunkers and remote hills hide you from casual traffic but attract dedicated raiders. Town edges give fast loot runs but sit near PvP zones. Read SCUM map notes before you claim a flag — water, vehicle access, and sentry patrol paths all matter.
Keep your metabolism stocked. A base without food and meds fails the moment a two-hour hold turns into a three-hour siege. Store bandages, calories, and repair kits where you actually loot during a raid.
Walls, doors, and raid timing
Layer doors so raiders burn time and ammo. Hide loot rooms behind decoy walls. Never store your only Laika or Rager parts in the obvious garage — split critical items across two stashes.
Raid windows often follow server peak hours. If your group runs item ESP for scouting, still rotate watch shifts manually. Overlays help; they do not replace ears on the perimeter.
Defending against players and PvE
Zombie hordes test gate timing. Sentries punish open fields. Hold choke points, not rooftops with no exit. Pair base work with our PvP strategies and loot routes so your build supports real raids.
